Live music, traditional painting, fortune telling, martial arts, calligraphy writing, storytelling, lucky red packets and a special exhibition of traditional New Year arts by the Chinese Canadian Artists Federation.

CHINESE NEW YEAR 2009 YEAR OF THE OX CARNIVAL
at the Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre
To celebrate Chinese New Year (January 26, 2009), the Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre is proud to present the “2009 Year of the Ox Chinese New Year Carnival” - a 3 -day fun-filling celebration of the Chinese New Year from January 23 – 25, 2009 (Friday through Sunday) at the Centre.   The Carnival features performances of traditional Dragon & Lion Dance, festival music, colorful folk dances, martial arts demonstration and an indoor bazzaar of more than 50 booths selling all sorts of goods and festival items. This event attracts a rich arry of more than 20,000 visitors each year and has been supported by hunderds of volunteers and performing groups.
